I hosted a 40-person retreat at Kinkara for 11 days over New Years 2020, and was really impressed with many aspects of Kinkara. Here's just a few of things I loved about hosting a retreat there. 1. Their staff is incredibly attentive to individual needs. I've actually never seen anything like it. They learned all 40 of our names and individual preferences, especially for food, and completely catered to all of our needs. The staff will go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful experience there. 2. The main spaces are incredible. El Moren, the main Maloka is gorgeous with incredible views. 3. The mandala garden is stunning. Waking up to people picking fresh food from the garden that we will soon be eating that day was a huge perk. The level of fresh, organic food that they are picking that day to serve is an unparalleled experience. 4. The waterfalls on the property are super sweet. They are a little bit of a walk, but it's good exercise anyways. 5. The temescal is beyond beautiful and offering a sweat lodge (a ceremonial sweat lead by temescalaros) at the beginning of the retreat was super appreciated by my retreat participants. I've looked at many other retreat options and been to many other retreat spaces in Costa Rica, and Kinkara really is in a class of it's own when it comes to the price compared to what you receive. I've also built my own retreat center in Hawaii, so I know just what it takes to run an operating like this, and they are doing a fabulous job. All 40 people at my retreat gave their entire staff and head chef a standing ovation on the last day of the retreat. We stayed here in Feb 2020 and we were frankly amazed at the beauty, tastes, colours and spirituality of this place. With perma-culture at the heart of the Kinkaara project, and with shared principles of sustainability and conservation this is a truly wonderful place.
